Process
We think this is the most important part of any project. The quality of our consultations with clients directly affects our final product. We ask many specific questions regarding the project, but just as important is the time spent interacting and learning about the client’s identity and vision for their company or product. The more we know about a client, the more likely it is that we will be able to accurately convey their identity visually, in a conceptually interesting way. And of course, if a client doesn’t know “who they are” we are here to act as a guide on that journey of self-discovery.
This is where we take all of client’s input and throw it into a pot along with our research, knowledge, and experience. We stir it and let it simmer for a little while. Once the clichéd and expected solutions rise to the top, we skim them off and throw them to the dogs. Now we start looking for interesting connections. From these connections we produce visual concepts and share them with our client. Once a plan of action is agreed upon we strap our ideas to a table, hoist them into the stormy night, and wait for a bolt lightning to bring them to life.
Ok, so lightning has nothing to do with bringing our ideas to life. However, our clients often remark that something equally as miraculous has occurred when they see what we have created for them. We use the latest techniques and practices (and occasionally invent a few new ones) to carry out our concepts. And since we love our jobs and want to continue doing what we do, we seek to create a product that we are proud of. More importantly, we seek to create success for our clients. When we accomplish this everybody wins.
Things rarely turn out perfect the first time. Occasionally a concept doesn’t translate as expected from our thoughts into reality. Whether is a minor typo or a redesign of a page on a website, this is the time to make the change. We believe that a mistake is not really a mistake until it is published.
This is where we take off the helmet and training wheels and send our precious creation out into the world. As a designer/client union we can be confident that we have done everything possible to make sure that our creation will function well in the marketplace and will pay us back for all the love we gave to it.
